Amy Doherty – Head of Design Services

Amy Doherty is an experienced Interior Design Professional with a career spanning over 20 years. In her role, she represents premium quality manufacturers of interiors furniture and furnishings, catering to clients in Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Amy collaborates with Interior Designers, Architects, Hotel Managers, Developers, Restaurants, distributors, and residential clients.

Prior to her current position, Amy worked as a Production Coordinator, where she managed production for a global consumer packaged goods client at the Latin American Headquarters in Panamá City, Panamá.

One of the significant milestones in her career was her tenure as the Assistant Manager Design and Procurement at Host Hotels & Resorts, a Fortune 500 company known for owning and managing a portfolio of high-quality lodging assets worldwide. During her five years and four months at Host Hotels & Resorts, Amy played a crucial role in several major projects for well-known hotel brands.

Some of the notable projects she was involved in between 2010 and 2012 include the St. Regis Houston Tea room, W Seattle Living room and restaurant/bar, Sheraton Needham Rooms and Link Cafe, Sheraton Parsippany rooms and lobby areas, Westin Indianapolis lobby and registration lobby, Westin Seattle meeting spaces and restaurant, and The Ritz Carlton San Francisco restaurant “Parallel 37”, lobby lounge, registration lobby, and original art collection, among others.

Before her time at Host Hotels & Resorts, Amy had her own venture, Amalia Ferer Designs, where she specialized in high-end, custom residential projects, and executive offices. She also worked as a Project Manager and Production Supervisor at TTSS interactive products, located in Rockville, Maryland, for two and a half years.

Amy’s educational background includes a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Interior Design from Marymount University, which she completed in 2012.

Throughout her career, Amy has developed a keen understanding of various aspects of interior design, from project management and procurement to representing premium manufacturers. She strives to provide excellent service to developers, commercial and residential project clients, design and procurement communities, as well as property managers. Her extensive experience in hospitality, healthcare, and residential design makes her a valuable asset in the industry which she strives to bring now to the expat community.
